MoaPOS Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MoaPOS is a point-of-sale app developed and operated by DodoSoft("DodoSoft", "we", "us"), a software development studio based in the Dominican Republic. This policy applies to the MoaPOS app for Android, package identifiercom.dodosoft.moapos, available on Google Play.

2. How MoaPOS handles your data

Unlike many apps, MoaPOS stores your business information (products, categories, taxes, sales, customers, cash shifts) in a local database on your own device, not on an external server. You're the one in control of that information: we don't have remote access to your business data and it isn't automatically sent to our servers.

3. Data we collect

Your business data (stored only on your device)

• Products, categories, taxes, and prices you enter.
• Sales, sold items, payment methods, and cash shifts.
• Customers: name and phone number, if you choose to add them, and their credit balance if you use credit sales.
• Photos of products or your business logo, if you add them from the camera or your gallery.
• Business settings: name, tax details for your receipts, and printing preferences.

Backups

MoaPOS lets you manually export a backup file (with your products, sales, customers, and images) to save wherever you choose - for example to your device storage, a file service, or share it through another app. That file is only generated and shared when you ask for it; MoaPOS never uploads it automatically to any DodoSoft server.

Technical data

• Device model and operating system version, used only locally for the app to function.

4. How we use this data

All of your business data is used exclusively so MoaPOS can function on your device: recording sales, tracking inventory, printing receipts, and generating your reports. We don't use it for advertising, we don't analyze it on our servers, and we don't sell it.

5. Who we share data with

• No one, by default. Your business data stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
• Bluetooth thermal printer: when you print a receipt, that sale's data is sent directly from your device to the printer you paired, over a local Bluetooth connection, without going through the internet or our servers.
• Google Play: if in-app purchases or subscriptions are enabled in the future, those transactions are processed and billed directly by Google; MoaPOS does not store card data.

6. Permissions MoaPOS requests on Android

• Camera: to scan barcodes when searching for or registering products, and to take photos of products or your business logo. The camera only activates when you open the scanner or choose to take a photo.
• Photos and media: to pick an existing photo from your gallery as a product or business image, and to save or open the backup file when you generate one.
• Bluetooth (connect and scan for devices): to pair with and send receipts to your thermal printer.
• Approximate and precise location: Android requires this permission in order to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices, even though MoaPOS doesn't use your actual location, doesn't store it, and doesn't send it anywhere. It's a technical requirement of the operating system for Bluetooth scanning, not a feature of the app.
• Google Play Billing: reserved for future in-app purchases or subscriptions; MoaPOS doesn't process charges through this permission beyond what Google Play itself manages.

MoaPOS does not request access to your contacts, microphone, calls, or SMS.

7. Where your data is stored

All of your business's operational data (products, sales, customers, images) is stored in a local database (SQLite) within the app's private storage on your device. If you uninstall MoaPOS without exporting a backup first, that data is permanently lost.

8. Data retention

Data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You control its deletion: you can remove specific records from within the app or uninstall it to erase all local data.

9. Your rights

Under Law 172-13 on Personal Data Protection of the Dominican Republic, you have the right to access, correct, and cancel the personal data of your customers that you record in MoaPOS. Since that data is under your direct control on your device, you can exercise these rights yourself from within the app. For questions about the app itself, write to us atinfo@dodosoft.com.do.

10. Security

Since your business data lives on your device, its security largely depends on your device's own security (screen lock, system updates). We recommend protecting your phone or tablet with a PIN, pattern, or biometrics, and making regular backups from within MoaPOS.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's features or applicable regulations change. Any changes will be posted on this same page along with the last-updated date.
